Thresher Sharks Doo Doo Doo

Malapascua Island in the northern Cebu province of the Philippines is said to be the only place in the world to reliably dive with thresher sharks every day. After my macro workshop in Anilao, I flew to Cebu, spent the night, took a 3.5 car ride to the New Maya Port, and then took a 30 minute banka ride to the island.

I did three two-tank morning dives with Thresher Shark Divers to Monad Shoal (day 1) and Kimud Shoal (days 2 and 3). Both these spots have a 90% chance of seeing thresher sharks and indeed I saw at least one per dive, at most two.

We weren't allowed to use any lights so it was challenging to get good shots of the sharks. My Lightroom editing of these sharks were just ok. Maybe I'll try and edit them some more but for now, these are good enough.
